Prepare a verifiable inventory
List needed contacts, folders, photos, conversations and accounts. Check you can unlock the source and the Xiaomi has enough space. Keep an independent copy of irreplaceable files.
The list helps detect partial omissions. Counting icons does not prove accounts are ready.
Check availability and roles
Open the official Mi Mover version available for your devices. Identify old and new phone options. Xiaomi should receive. If your interface differs, follow model-specific help and do not confirm a direction you cannot identify.
Before pairing, you should know which device sends and which receives.
Pair your phones
Follow Mi Mover’s pairing flow with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth available and both devices nearby. Xiaomi recommends sufficient charge and keeping screens active during its process. Avoid switching apps while copying.
If an unexpected device name appears, cancel that connection and identify your own phones.
Select without blindly duplicating
Review offered categories and warnings, choose needed items and wait for the summary. If part fails, note which part before repeating everything. Preserve the source and avoid multiple tools copying identical content at once.
A partial result calls for reviewing pending categories, not erasing the entire phone.
Open and compare the result
Find contacts, open several full photos and a file from an important folder. Verify email, WhatsApp and authenticator access using each service’s process. Check the home screen contains the apps you intend to keep.
Consider the move complete only when content and access are verified, not when a progress bar disappears.
When to stop and ask for help
For unavailable Mi Mover or repeated connection failures, contact Xiaomi with both models and versions. Factory reset is not a universal requirement and could erase destination content.
