Review source, destination and space

List needed content and its location: Android storage, a card, cloud service or an app. Check iPhone space and account access. Keep independent copies of essential documents and power available for both phones.

A cloud thumbnail does not establish that a full file is available to copy from the phone.

Open the official method

During iPhone setup, find Transfer Your Apps & Data → From Android and the app-based method. Use Apple’s Move to iOS on Android and enter the code displayed by your iPhone. For wireless transfer, accept the request to join the temporary Wi-Fi network created by the iPhone.

If other methods appear, review current compatibility documentation rather than mixing workflows halfway through.

Select content and let it finish

Review the selectable content. Keep both devices connected and avoid using other apps during copying. Wait for the iPhone progress bar to finish even if Android appears done earlier.

Check special categories separately

Open photos, contacts and messages on the destination. Apple lists music, books and PDFs for manual transfer. For a document in Drive or another cloud service, install its official iPhone app, sign in and open the complete file. Complete each service’s own process for WhatsApp, authenticators and banking.

Mark your inventory copied, pending or unsupported. Do not let a general percentage hide pending items.

Verify access before retiring the source

Test accounts, verification code reception and phone service using carrier guidance. For an incomplete destination, identify missing items before repeating or erasing. Keep both devices while evaluating alternatives.

Do not erase Android until content and access are verified. Before reconfiguring iPhone, preserve anything newly created there.

Will all apps and sessions move?

Does copying delete Android data?

Copying is not an instruction to erase the source. Preserve it while verifying the new phone.
