Start with this check.
Read the app listing and current state. Compare with a small update you actually need: if everything fails, investigate connection and storage; if one app fails, check its compatibility message.
Do not use an APK from an advertisement to bypass the problem. Avoid clearing Google Play services data or removing your account as an initial test because other services and access may be affected.
Which situation matches yours?
Let’s go step by step.
0 of 5 checks completedMark each check to keep track during this visit.
Separate waiting, errors and incompatibility
Open Play Store through its normal icon and inspect the app listing. Record pending, installing or the exact error. Review downloads already in progress rather than starting many additional tests.
An unavailable-app message needs an app-specific investigation, not a phone reset.
Test actual Internet access
Open a fresh webpage and check whether the network requires sign-in. Retry on a stable connection. Before comparing mobile data, consider your plan and Play Store download preferences.
A Wi-Fi icon alone does not establish Internet access. Use the same app when comparing networks.
Check phone storage
Search phone Settings for Storage. Preserve documents before removing downloads you no longer need. Free Google Drive capacity is different from the local space required to install an app.
Record available space before and after cleanup. Keep the only copy of your photos.
Check time and updates
Verify date and time zone and look for system updates in Settings. Use model-specific help if the menus differ. Do not change account or country settings to fix an incorrect clock.
Keep any unsupported-version message for the app developer.
Reopen and verify completion
Close and reopen Play Store, then retry one download. If still stuck, save pending work and restart normally. Confirm the app opens and its update has finished.
If every download still fails, report model, version and error to Google Play. A single failing app needs its developer.
When to stop and ask for help
Stop if a supposed fix asks for payment or remote access to unlock Play Store. Consult the administrator before changing work-device or family restrictions.
Does a step differ from what you see? →Common questions
Will deleting Google Photos free installation space?
Not necessarily. Distinguish local and cloud storage, and verify a backup before deleting anything.
Will reinstalling Play Store fix incompatibility?
Do not assume so. Check the app requirements for your device.
Should I cancel every update?
First see whether they are progressing. Avoid interrupting work that is completing successfully.
